MakeMusic は，MusicXML の今後の開発（仕様の改定など）を，W3C の「Music Notation Community Group」に移転したそうです．
また，それと同時に，Steinberg も，SMuFL(Standard Music Font Layout) の今後の開発を，この「Music Notation Community Group」に移転したそうです．

MusicXML と SMuFL の今後の仕様策定を，W3C の「Music Notation Community Group」が一手に引き受けた，ということですね．

楽譜をデータとして記述する仕様の話と，楽譜を表示するためのフォントの仕様の話とが相互に関連しあうことで，よい仕様になっていくような気がします．
